Using Auto Text

Author => How to set up and use Auto Text in T-Pro's web application

Introduction

Auto Text is a tool for Authors using speech recognition.

Authors can build auto-texts to use a (short) voice command to implement standardised boilerplate text. Auto Text replaces the spoken abbreviation with the full term or with any long text template.

This feature works across different T-Pro products:

  Dictate Web app
  Speech Direct

So if you are also a Speech Direct user your existing auto-texts are carried over from the web platform (and vice versa).

Where to set up Auto Text

You are logged into the web application with an Author account.

Click on your name in the upper right corner and select EDIT ACCOUNT.

In your profile section you select the tab AUTO-TEXT.

=> This opens a new tab in your browser. Here you can add, edit, and delete auto-text entries.

How to set up Auto Text

If you have no previous entries your screen looks like depicted below:

  1. Enter a your favoured abbreviation in the Word field.
This is the word/abbreviation you would naturally say while dictating.
    For example: EUPD

  2. Enter the full text as it should appear in your document in the Replacement field.
    Example: Emotional Unstable Personality Disorder

  3. Click on the plus icon to save your entry and get a new line for the next entry.

  • The saved entry can be edited or deleted.

  • Remember that you can use long boilerplate texts in the Replacement field which will be added to your dictation only by saying the respective short word.

  • Auto Text works individually on user level.
