Working with Headers in Templates
Master & Manager role => This article explains how to apply primary and secondary headers in a template.
A primary header in a template might only be needed on the first page of the document. The following pages can show a different header, a secondary header.
Note that it works in the same way for the footers of your document.
Overview
- the default setting in a template is that the same (primary) header is used on all pages
- the secondary header option needs to be enabled
- once enabled you can set up the secondary header
- there is a function to switch between the primary and secondary header to view or edit them
In the template
To create such a setup for your templates follow the steps below:
1 - Go to the TEMPLATES section.
Template section on facility level (Master role)
Template section on group level (Manager role)
2 - Select the template you want to edit. The steps are the same when creating a new template.
3 - In the next screen scroll down to the EDITOR section.
The formatting menu displays the two options you need to work with if you want to set up two different headers.
-
Enable Secondary Header/Footer
-
Toggle between Primary and Secondary Header/Footer
Identifying the status of a template
Primary header
The above image shows a template using a primary header only.
- it is labelled just as Header in the template
- the header would appear on all pages
- none of the two icons is active
- this is the default setting
Secondary header
If you want to add a secondary header to your template you need to enable this function.
4 - Click on the icon showing two pages.
- the secondary header is labelled as Other pages in the template
- all formatting applied will be displayed on all pages starting on the second page
Below, it still shows the header you had set up as your main/primary header which you can remove/edit now to create the secondary header.
Secondary header can be set up when the template shows 'Other Pages'
5 - Set up the secondary header as required and SAVE your template at the top.
