400 Error - Winscribe DD

Winscribe Client - Typist error appears onscreen when the client polls the server to update the job list in the typist queues.

Issue: Getting Error 400 Internet request failed when listing jobs.

User has inadvertently moved a file from its current location and then tries to request this file again before the client has refreshed or the database is updated and it cannot longer locate the file.

This causes the RequestQueue.xml file to lock up. By renaming it, it removes this request line and goes back to normal operating status. 

 

  1. Right click on a clear area of the taskbar and open Task Manager
  2. Find WinScribe client process running, right click and select End task
  3. This should close the application.
  4. Alternatively reboot the computer and then complete the following steps.
  5. Open File Explorer, browse to C:\ProgramData\WinScribe\Users\**** where **** is the security ID of the user logging into WinScribe client.
  6. Find RequestQueue.xml right click and “Rename” – change to RequestQueue.todaysdate
    1. Example: 100725
  7. When a clash has occurred, this file has become locked.
  8. Close the above folder.
  9. Reopen Winscribe Client.
