T-Pro Scribe - What you need to know

Patient information about the application, its service, and security.

What is Scribe?

T-Pro Scribe is a software which securely records conversations between doctors and patients and automatically turns them into written medical notes. Clinicians are obliged to create such notes after each appointment.

T-Pro Scribe uses artificial intelligence to save clinicians time so they don’t have to type everything themselves.

This helps doctors to focus solely on the patient and the examination instead of paperwork.

Here are the typical points of concern patients phrase:

  • Do I have to agree to use such a tool?

  • What happens to the recording?

  • What happens to the recording after the document is created?

  • Who can access the recording?

  • How secure is the usage of T-Pro Scribe?

  • Will T-Pro Scribe produce a diagnosis?

Please note that the usage of T-Pro Scribe falls under UK and EU regulations (e.g. GDPR, DCB0129, ISO 14971, MDR 2017/745) which ensure transparency, data protection, and information governance. T-Pro Scribe is a registered medical device.

Do I have to agree to use such a tool?

You will be informed before each appointment if T-Pro Scribe is being used. The clinician will need to get the patient's explicit consent. Otherwise a recording of the appointment is not possible.
If a patient chooses not to use this tool, the consultation will go ahead without being recorded; it does not effect the care a patient receives.

Example of a consent message before a recording can be activated:

What happens to the recording?
The recording is used to help create accurate medical notes of the appointment and turned into a draft document for the doctor to review and approve.
The clinician remains fully responsible for the accuracy of your medical record.

What happens to the recording after the document is created?
The recording is not part of your medical record. While it is stored for a limited time it is protected with strong security measures. It may be stored for quality checks, or investigations, and then securely deleted according to policy.

Who can access the recording?
Only your  doctor and their authorised healthcare staff with a valid reason can access the recording. The same strict standards which normally applies to health records are in practice. Access is controlled, monitored, and recorded.

How secure is the usage of T-Pro Scribe?
Your data is protected with strong security measures like encryption, strict access controls, and continuous monitoring. It is handled according to healthcare data protection standards to keep your information safe and confidential.

Will T-Pro Scribe produce a diagnosis?
No, T-Pro Scribe does not produce a diagnosis. Clinical decisions, including diagnosis and treatment, remain entirely the responsibility of the doctor. T-Pro Scribe is designed only to capture and structure clinical conversations into draft documentation, which must be reviewed and approved by a clinician.
